Your challenge

As User Interaction Designer you contribute to innovative projects, with responsibility for implementation of design thinking and the quality of design deliverables. You add value to the Philips brand through the creation of great user experiences.
 
As User Interaction Designer you are responsible for development of the design ideas in the project from basic product concepts through to fully worked out design solutions. You work as part of a global multi-disciplinary team to stimulate the creative process with new ideas and input. You contribute to the outcome by advising other project members on how best to solve the client’s problem. You are responsible for guiding the creation of models and for the assessment of these models.

Your responsibilities

  • Translate user needs, business requirements and human factors knowledge into interaction designs, visual designs, and specifications.
  • Create mock-ups and interactive prototypes to evaluate designs.
  • Participate in innovation studies to support programming decision making for new products by reducing clinical, technical, usability and economic risks.
  • Investigate new concepts and methods in order to stay ahead of the competition.
  • Build prototypes to test new ideas in lab, preclinical or clinical setting in an early phase
  • Actively monitor results of clinical testing and relevant prototyping release process.
  • Monitor and report on technical trends in your field of expertise

Your team

The user interaction designer will work within the IGT-S Innovation department in Best. In this group new technologies and features are developed to improve the efficiency and clinical outcome of interventional procedures. Innovations range from building advanced clinical software applications to the development of minimally invasive medical solutions, room integration solutions and system connectivity solutions. Projects are usually multidisciplinary with technical (SW/HW) people, Clinical Scientists, representatives from marketing and user interaction designers. In the innovation department the focus is on evaluating new technologies and features first in-house and in 2nd phase in a clinical setting to reduce the technical and clinical risk. When technical and clinical feasibility is proven the project is transferred to the development organization.
 
You will be part of a small highly skilled, multi-disciplinary team in a larger team of 35 specialists with backgrounds in Computer Science, Physics, Mechanical Engineering, Electrical Engineering and Mathematics.

We are looking for

First of all, you are creative and analytical professional. In addition you are a team player and a coach. You have a ‘hands-on’ approach and good communication skills and are able to communicate well with all stakeholders (Marketing, Clinical Science, R&D, etc.).
 
  • Masters degree in (Interaction, Industrial) Design
  • Strong analytical, conceptual and graphical skills
